A Matter of Taste

The insurance industry is filled with great stories.

In a recent claim, an artist added egg yolk with paint as a binder to add richness to the colors. The finished painting was “comic art”. The art dealer put the consigned painting in his home office. The dealer’s dog decided it wanted some eggs, subsequently licking the painting into oblivion. The replacement cost was $10,000!

Needless to say the dog has good taste.

Incidentally, this is a great lesson: Make sure your fine art is appraised and scheduled on your insurance policy.
